Our Story
Creativity has no limits.
Eva-Michelle & Family Publishing was founded by Jamaican author and creative, Kabrena Robinson, with a mission to empower independent writers and creatives. Our story began when Kabrena embarked on the journey of self-publishing her first children's book, Two Homes. This heartfelt story was inspired by her daughter’s deep connection to the two places she calls home—Canada and Jamaica.
Through her own self-publishing experience, Kabrena realized the wealth of opportunities available to authors beyond traditional publishing. Armed with this knowledge, she felt driven to share her expertise in writing, editing, and self-publishing with others who dream of seeing their stories in print. Eva-Michelle & Family Publishing was born out of a commitment to breaking down barriers, offering guidance, and supporting emerging voices in the world of independent publishing.
At our core, we believe that every individual deserves the chance to tell their story and share their unique talents with the world. We reject the idea of gatekeeping and conventional standards in the realms of creativity and expression. While the path of an independent author may be unconventional, it is also a powerful and liberating choice. We understand the challenges that come with this journey, and we are here to provide the resources, encouragement, and expertise needed to bring your vision to life.
We are passionate about amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard. At Eva-Michelle & Family Publishing, we believe that every story matters, and we are dedicated to helping you put your creativity into the world, where it belongs.
